Hiroshige Ando, who completed "Tokaido-Gojyusantsugi Ukiyoe," had taken the same angle in painting "Hattori's residence." Windows of the first floor are ornamented with wooden lattice works and the second floor wall is cemented with "Shikkui," the traditional Japanese cement for buildings. In this Arimatsu area, the gorgeous household still remains to be seen. I sincerely hope that they can be preserved for a very long time.
